HTC Legend Mobile Phone Review
HTC Legend
Background Information & Look n’ Feel
The HTC Legend has been machined out of a single block of aluminium which gives it its smooth lines, continuous surface and good looks. The black plastic sections on the phone are there for a reason. Without these plastic strips the signals from the Wi-Fi, cellular and GPS antennae would get blocked. The device is very slim at only 112 x 56 x 12mm, but it’s surprisingly heavy for its size at 126 grams.

Hardware – Display, Keyboard, Battery, Communications, Memory, Connectors
The looks of this device are greatly enhanced by the 3.2 inch, AMOLED HVGA display which has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Whereas this phones predecessor used a trackball this mobile device has been rework to be more elegant by replacing the trackball for an optical device.
Although this is an Android 2.1 device HTC have added their own applications such as the new social networking feature called “Friend Stream”. This application allows you to centralise all of your communication from Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites. The HTC Legend comes with 3G and has maximum download speeds of up to 7.2Mps and uploads of up to 2Mbps. The device also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and supports mini USB v2.0.
The HTC LEGEND has a good built in 5 mega pixel camera (2592 x 1944 pixels) which also includes autofocus, an LED flash, geo-tagging, and video. It also comes with a multimedia player, a FM radio and a 3.5mm audio socket. To power all of this hardware and software the phone uses a 1300 mAh battery which is quoted as giving up to 6 hours talktime on 3G and 560 hours (23 days) standby time.
Software
As previously mentioned the HTC Legend is run on Android 2.1. To keep things ticking over at a good lick the HTC Legend has a 600 MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor, which is pretty much standard for this type of device. The internal memory is 384MB of RAM which should be enough for most users.
Availability & Pricing
All in all this is a really nice phone as it is a small but powerful touchscreen smartphone. The phone should be available for general release in Europe in April.
