The Samsung A687 Strive is a stylish slider phone that comes in either purple or black. The phone has a touchscreen monitor and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The dimensions of the phone are 105.9 x 58.9 x 14.6 mm and it weighs 113g.

One of the unique features of this device is the improved conversational messaging format using threaded text. This allows you to simultaneously text numerous people, very much like a conversation.

The user interface for this device is a small 2.6” TFT touchscreen monitor which should be sufficient as data entry can be carried out using a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The phone also comes with a built-in 2.0 Megapixel Digital Camera with Camcorder and digital zoom.
Other features include Games, Clock, Alarm, Calculator, Calendar, Voice memo, organiser and a multi-media player capable of playing both video and audio files.
To manage data storage and access the Samsung A687 uses Edge, USB v.2.0, Bluetooth , and WAP xHTML. The internal memory is 80Mb but this can be expanded up to 32GB using the microSD port.
The phone has a Li ion battery that can provide up to 250 hours stand-by time and 3 hours talktime on GSM.
