Background Information & Look n’ Feel

The X10 Mini and the X10 Mini Pro are basically a X10 that has been shrunken down. The X10 Mini Pro differs slightly from its sister phone because it has a slide out QUERTY keyboard. The X10 Mini has a virtual keyboard this is not full QWERTY because the whole point of the phone is that you use it using one hand. Both phones measure 83.0 x 50.0 x 16.0 mm. Owing to the X10 Mini Pro being a slider it weighs 120g compared to the X10 Mini’s 88g. Both phones are available in either black or pearl white.

To look at both of these devices are very nice looking, particularly the screen. The screen makes use of hot corners for added functionality. Both phones have a 5 megapixel camera rather than a 8.1 camera that you found on the original X10. As with the original these Android phones have a personal organiser, Bluetooth, PC synching, media player, Goggle maps, Google integration with apps.

The X10 Mini and the X10 Mini Pro come with a 2.55 inch, 240 x320 pixel, 65k colour TFT touchscreen display. The display is scratch resistant and come with an accelerometer sensor so you can auto-rotate the screen.

For such a small device this phone packs a big punch. It has 128Mb of internal memory and it can support MicroSD up to 16GB. This means you can enjoy a whole host of entertainment from 3D games, Facebook, FM radio with RDS, video streaming, Walk Mate and YouTube.

As previously mentioned these phones have a 5 megapixel camera which also includes a flash, geo-tagging, video recording, and video light to improve lighting whilst shooting videos. As for connectivity the phones have A-GPS, Bluetooth, Google Maps, USB Mass storage, Wi-Fi and “Wisepilot” turn by turn navigation.
Talk time up to 4 hours on 3G and up to 285 hours standby time.

Software

Xperia™ X10 Mini and Mini Pro use the Android™ platform so you can enjoy accessing Google applications such as: Google Search, Google Voice Search, Google Talk, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and Android Market. The phones also come with social network apps such as Facebook and Twitter.

Availability & Pricing

All in all these phones are very powerful devices for their size. Unfortunately the keyboard on the X10 Mini is virtual and too small for our liking.
