The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro Mobile Phone Review

Background and Look and feel

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is identical to its sister phone, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, with the exception of a few slight changes. The most obvious difference is that the Vivaz Pro is a slider phone.

Hardware – Display, Keyboard, Battery, Communications, Memory, Connectors

The  QUERTY keyboard that slides out is  not only practical, because of the wide spaced keys, but it’s also very good looking. Moreover, despite the addition of the keyboards the phone only gains an extra 2mm in length and depth.

In terms of hardware the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro has the same impressive display as the original Vivaz. The screen is a 360×640 pixel, 216 colour 16:9 nHD touchscreen (TFT). The screen also has an accelerometer which allows you to auto-rotate the screen.

Unfortunately the biggest disappointment of the Vivaz Pro is the removal of the 8 megapixel camera. This has been replaced by a built-in 5 MP, 2560 x 1920 pixels camera which comes with autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, geo-tagging, plus face and smile detection. The camera is capable of taking HD video (1280×720 pixels)

According to the manufacturer the battery will give you 430 hours on standby and has a talk time of 5h 20m on 3G.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is a nice phone which should be quite successful. As yet it is unclear where it will be sold but it should start to become available in the first quarter of 2010. No guidance has been given on price.
